Q: What is EJARI?
A: EJARI means ‘My Rent’ in Arabic. Simply, its a lease management system that can issue official Tenancy Contracts and Management Contracts.
Q: Is EJARI mentioned or stated in Dubai Law?
A: Yes. Law No. 26 of 2007 requires all individuals and companies acting as landlords to register tenancy agreements using EJARI.
Q: What are the benefits of EJARI?
A: This system offers full protection of their rights to all parties (landlord and tenant) with tenancy agreement. It ensures these rights are recognized, upheld, and enforced by all Government agencies. It establishes full transparency between landlord and tenant, fully integrates rental contracts into the legal framework and opens up the possibility of being able to revise these contracts seamlessly in the event of disputes.
Q: Am I required to register my property in EJARI?
A: If you are renting out your property to a tenant, then yes.
Q: Can MAGme register my property in EJARI even if I am not in Dubai?
A: Yes.
Q: What are the documents needed to register my property in EJARI?
A: Send us a (a) Scanned copy of Owner's Passport, (b) Scanned Copy of Title Deed, (c) DEWA A/C No., and (d) Scanned Copy of Tenancy Contract.
Q: As a Landlord, do I need to pay anything upon registration?
A: If you signed up for our Property Management Service, then everything will be free of charge. But if not, we will require a Registration Charge for each property you want to register with us.
Q: Do I need to pay anything for the Tenancy Agreement in EJARI?
A: If you are a landlord, you will not pay anything. The tenant will pay AED 160/- for the contract.
Q: I do not have a Title Deed yet. Can I still register my property in EJARI?
A: No. It is very important to have your Title Deed first.
Q: Do I have to register my property every year in EJARI?
A: No. You only need to register once.
